About the project
Handyshop is a Croatian web shop for phone and tablet accessories: cases, screen protectors, chargers, headphones. I built the shop on a premium WordPress/WooCommerce theme and have maintained, monitored and extended it ever since.

The catalogue holds over 64,000 product photos, so speed is ongoing work here. These are the results after the optimisation.

What was done for speed
- Revolution Slider removed and replaced with a lightweight slider whose slides are added from the homepage settings
- database cleaned of thousands of old revisions, posts and transients
- scripts and styles compressed, with third-party scripts (analytics, GTM) loaded after the page
- 64,310 photos optimised: JPG/PNG at 6,717 MB converted to WebP at 1,569 MB, a 77% saving
- everything WordPress and the theme load that the shop does not need removed
- WP Rocket with caching set up at every level, except the cart, checkout and account pages
